Community Based Services - Skills Support Coach
We are looking for community-minded individuals who enjoy making a positive impact in people’s lives and sees value in giving back to their community. This job entails mentoring adults with disabilities by assisting them in gaining confidence in connecting with others in their community so they may live and work as independently as possible, as full members of their community.
Job Description

Assists Program Participants in learning to become as independent as possible in integrated community settings.

Provides supervision and transportation support as needed.

Guides Program Participants in developing soft skills, social, interpersonal relationship skills, self-advocacy and motivation, with the goal of greater community inclusion and/or competitive employment.

Communicates effectively and professionally with the host businesses and organizations, supervisors and Program Participants.

Assists CBDS Coordinator in coordinating with Program Participants and Community Businesses and Organizations to set up volunteer positions, job shadows, and other integrated community experiences for and with Program Participants.

Meets all agency and sponsoring agency documentation and reporting requirements, and other duties as required.

Requirements

Mandatory background and driving record check

Preferred Bachelor’s degree and/or commensurate experience of two years Human Service Education or experience

Knowledge of developmental disabilities, mental health, or traumatic brain injury helpful

Continuing education/training specific to vocational rehabilitation practices is required

Writing, simple math, typing and computer skills

Ability to cross train and work a flexible schedule

Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker
We are looking for an individual who can perform general building and grounds maintenance duties for our offices and production area of our recycling department. Primary duties include:
* Scheduling routine and unexpected inspections and repairs to bui9lding mechanical systems
* Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on paper shredders and balers along with common lawn care equipment
* Completing minor repairs to most building hard surfaces and facility equipment
* Mowing and trimming the grounds to keep well manicured
* Removing general litter and natural debris
* Removing snow from sidewalks and entryways so as to allow clear access
* Assisting with inspecting facilities regularly
* Perform minor carpentry and repair work to windows, doors, ramps, hardware, screens, supports, equipment, devices, and furniture
* Perform minor and routine painting, drywall repairs, and plumbing repairs
* Transporting goods or equipment as assigned
* Observing and reporting defects, deterioration and wear and tear on the facilities
* Assisting with the scheduling of elements of the Vehicle Maintenance Program
* Assisting with the transportation of Program Participants
* Attending Safety Committee Meetings
Requirements:
* Valid driver's license and Annual Motor Vehicle Record check
* Ability to implement special projects as assigned
* At least three years' experience in similar field
* Forklift and Bobcat experience preferred
* Familiar with a variety of personal protective equipment required for maintenance work
* Ability to operate all equipment as needed
* Knowledgeable in the fundamentals of MIOSHA General Industry Standards helpful
Benefits:
* Part-time hours (approximately 25 hours per week), Monday through Friday, no holidays
* Paid vacation, sick leave and some holidays
* Pay - wage starting at $16.00 per hour
