Job Coach

Job description:

 

A Job Coach provides direct assistance to individuals experiencing barriers to employment. Job Coaches assist persons with disabilities to gain skills essential for competitive employment and greater community inclusion, teaching task completion and job skills, developing modifications or providing job accommodations, and helping to develop soft skills, social skills, and motivation. Coaches assess strengths and abilities and teach how to use them effectively; monitor and evaluate progress keeping accurate records and documentation; and communicate effectively and professionally with the host employers, supervisors, and other employees. Quality work is essential.

This is a part-time position primarily consisting of janitorial cleaning duties, the coaching and supervising of crew members, and other duties as needed or directed. Hours are between 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday, however additional hours are possible (no holiday or weekend hours required.)

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Responsibilities include providing transportation, soft skill training, instruction in teaching work techniques, observing and recording progress of individuals as it relates to their plan of service, working with the business served in a professional manner, job task analysis, developing job modifications and providing accommodations in accordance with the disability, entering progress records into a database. And ensuring that the quality of all work performed meets required standards.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Preferred: Some College education, and experience working with people with disabilities

  • Successful mandatory background and driving record check

  • Ability to inspire and motivate

  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Writing, simple math, typing, and some computer skills

  • Organizational and problem solving skills

  • Ability to perform general cleaning tasks, and ensuring the quality of work

Pay: $11.00 per hour plus $2.35/hour Direct Care wage
